Lovely and hard to find small settee or loveseat by Brayton International.
Brayton was acquired by Steelcase and is now sold under the brand name Coalesse. This particular couch is no longer made. Designed by Paul Brayton, his eponymous firm produced high end furniture from 1973 to 1987 when Steelcase bought his company and made him creative director of a new division made up of a number of smaller high end brands and named Coalesse.
First Dibs has this couch listed at $2,900. The original back cushions are lost but it comes with a lumbar pillow that fits perfectly and two leather throw pillows. I’ve cleaned it with saddle soap and it could use a leather polish to even the color/remove scuff marks. The previous owner had a cat, fyi.
A beautiful small couch I hate to part with. It is perfect for small spaces such as New York apartment living rooms, reading nooks, or as an accent piece in a bedroom, or entrance hall, etc.
The other items in the picture are for sale too, so you can create an instant room. Brayton International settee couch, Dick Bruna Rijksmuseum serigraph, Koch & Lowy apothecary lamp, CB2 waterfall table (mine is smaller manufacturer unknown), small oriental Tabriz rug, Aperture magazines, sterling silver bowl, and I have a Kartell Mademoiselle chair in Missoni fabric that would complete the room.
Comparable quality to Knoll, Herman Miller, Cassina, Ligne Roset, etc.
Size/Dimensions: 24 tall x 60 wide x 31inches deep
1960s, 1970s, 1980s, mid century, midmod, mid mod, mcm, midcentury, modern sharpe1 vintage Bauhaus eames
