Here is a beautiful set of 2 framed illustrations from the 60s, reproductions of Paris in the 18 th century (1700’s).
One shows Le Louvre under Louis XV, with great boat traffic on the Seine, the other shows le Grand Châtelet and the bridge “Pont au Change”. Le Grand Châtelet was a fortress and a prison, it was demolished in the 19 th century, while the bridge remained.
Both frames can be either hung to the wall, or stand on a desk (see the back tab on picture 5).
They are made of gilded wood, both have a little wear like dark spots, which gives them a nice patina, well matching with the illustrations.
Each frame measures : 12.60 " x 8.66 " (32 cm x 22 cm)
