for sale is a restored vintage industrial drafting table by Hamilton, circa 1950s. the company was originally founded by J.E. Hamilton in 1880. its growth closely represents industrialization of our country (you can read more about it at http://hamiltonlab.com/about-us/company-history/). the drafting furniture production began in 1917, and this table is a proud example. drafting table features a classic 4-post oak base, blueprint drawer, tall drawer with sliding pen tray, and double beam foot rest. top measures 72 by 37 5/8 inches. we can attach a removable lip, it will add an inch. table stands 37 inches tall. technically, top is made to tilt. we haven't come across many top-tilting people, but have the hardware to accommodate if you're one of them. let us know beforehand. table is fully restored. wood base and top scrapped and sanded. base wood was covered in several layers of teak oil. we covered top with German Osmo top oil – a product that is food-safe, extremely water and chemical resistant, very durable and hardwearing. It's a microporous, breathable finish which does not crack, peel or flake, and no sanding is necessary for spot repairs or future applications. bottom of 4-posts have been modified a previous owner (see pictures), adding a unique look to the table. blueprint drawer has been lined with removable green felt, covering a small hole on the bottom of the drawer. perfect kitchen / work / craft table. as always with items of this scale, please reach out with your zip code / address for exact shipping quote.
