Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray.
With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011.
Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.
This very rare, antique, French, two tier cake stand would make a truly stunning addition to your country cottage kitchen or if you love the idea of recreating a 'traditional cream tea' for a Summer garden party then this pretty, delicate ‘shabby chic roses’ cupcake display stand is for you.
Lunéville Faience is one of the most famous French pottery manufacturers. It has been located in Lunéville, Lorraine, France since 1730. This Lunéville K & G (Keller et Guerin) mark dates from between 1880 and 1922.
The two antique white plates are both marked on the underside with the ‘Lunéville’ pottery mark.
The top plate measures 23.5cms/ 9¼" diameter and the bottom plate measures 30cms/ 11¾" diameter.
It weighs 1.4kgs/3lbs.
Both plates are decorated with the ‘roses’ design in the centre and have a ‘beaded’ detail to form a rim/border. It has a metal handle that can be unscrewed for ease of storage or transportation.
Considering its age it is in remarkable, near perfect condition. The top tier plate is showing some very fine ‘hairline’ cracks to the glaze, which is to be expected with its age and does not in any way detract from its beauty or functionality, it in fact adds to the charm and authenticity of this gorgeous item.
All that this beautiful cake stand needs now is a Victoria jam and cream sponge and some scones to decorate it………..et voilà!...............Bonne Appétit!..........
