Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray.
With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011.
Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.
This is a stunning set of six antique French books in faded blue/grey tones. They are 'aged to perfection' and will give you an instant 'old library' effect.
This 'light blue/grey' book bundle is made up of French, antiquarian school books, very collectible and increasingly hard to find. They are in genuine vintage condition, as you can see from the photos. They have gathered a few pencil marks and names inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.
Most importantly they have that 'old book smell' reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.
The six books are all hardcover editions, distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose.
The titles are:
La France et Ses Colonies, Troisième Année - L. Gallouédec et F. Maurette (1931 edition.) A study of France and France's overseas territories, geography and population.
Ls Sciences Physiques, Brevet Elémentaire - A. Brémant (1917 edition.) This book is amazing, once you pick it up it's impossible to put down. It has wonderful illustrations and diagrams of experiments in meteorology, electricity and magnetism. It has chapters on physics, such as light and optics, heat, energy and gravity. The chemistry chapters cover all the elements, precious metals, liquids and gases.

It also has a beautiful cover illustration of a Deer, surrounded by a butterfly border.
Sciences et Enseignement Ménager, Cours Moyen, Jeunes Filles - A. Brémant (1934 edition.) This book is similar to the one above with basic science studies but it has almost half the book given over to
