Rare seating system by Roberto Matta for Knoll. Circa 1960s. Featured at MoMA (https://www.moma.org/collection/works/3975) . This seating system is fantastic both as a piece of sculptural art when assembled and seating for 5 when disassembled. I have owned this piece for about five years (purchased from Mod50s Modern in Tulsa, OK), and I love it, but it is just a bit too big for our current home. It is in very good original condition--upholstery is original, and it has some wear to it consistent with its age. There are a few darker spots on the upholstery and a bit of fading is visible if you look at just the right angle. There are also a few snags in the fabric. I tried to show some of the flaws in the pictures, but they are very hard to capture. Full disclosure--I do have pets. This piece is currently stored in a room where they are not allowed, but it has been used in the living room in the past. Please let me know if you have any questions.
