A pair of early 20th C. painted wooden Italian Neoclassical-style side chairs. Each with a curved back and semi-circular frieze decoration have partially gilded spindles ending in elongated gold acanthus buds. The padded seats above four sabre legs have the original springs and aprons repeating the curve of back. The seats have been later covered in flame-stitch pastels. Sturdy and comfortable. The white paint has darkened significantly from age. Some discoloration to the upholstery. Seat height 18.5"H.
