Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray.
With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011.
Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.

This is a stunning set of five antique French books in faded green tones. They are 'aged to perfection' and will give you an instant 'old library' effect. There are works here by two of France's most famous writers, Jules Verne and Alphonse Daudet to give your bookshelves added French Chic!
Most importantly they have that 'old book smell' reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.
This 'green' book bundle is made up of French classic literature and old French school books, very collectible and increasingly hard to find. They are in genuine vintage condition, as you can see from the photos. They have been held and read by many, many people who have 'thumbed through' them, studied them, ear marked pages, loved, lost and cherished them and they have finally ended up here - looking for a new home and a new adventure. They have also gathered a few pencil marks and names inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.
The five books are all hardcover editions, distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose, and yellowed with 'age spots'.
The titles are:
Lettres de Mon Moulin - A. Daudet (1951 edition.) Letters from My Windmill is a collection of short stories by Alphonse Daudet first published in its entirety in 1869. It is considered to be Daudet's most important work. It is cherished by many French, particularly in the South, for the picture it paints of the local culture.
Voyage au Centre de la Terre - Jules Verne (1923 edition.) Jules Gabriel Verne (8 February 1828 – 24 March 1905) was a French novelist, poet, and playwright. Journey to the Centre of the Earth, written in 1864, is one of his most famous science fiction novels.
Science Naturelles, Brevet Elémentaire - A. Brémant (1917 edition.) This book is amazing, once you pick it up it's impossible to put down. It has wonderful illustrations of the workings of the human body, anatomical diagrams. Drawings of fish, insects and everything from fossils to woolly mammoths. It has chapters on Horticulture, Agriculture , Geology, Zoology and Botany - truly fascinating.
Histoire, de 1848 à 1914, Classe de Première - Jules Isaac (1961 edition.) This book is a comprehensive guide to France's history, from the middle of the 19th century to the first world war. Published by the famous Parisian publisher 'Librarie Hachette'.
