Hello shoppers, my name is Angela creator of Eclectic Means. Welcome to my little corner of the world. I love making things beautiful again and I enjoy creating eclectic pieces of handmade art. Refinishing and upcycling furniture is and was my passion. When I was doing so my tagline was "Beauty is in the eye of the restorer." Thats a powerful tagline if you understand what all has to be done to old worn vintage, rare and unique piece of furniture.
However, since my back injury I'm no longer able to do the intense labor that is required to make them beautiful again. So I got inspired by my love of rare designs, color and for rare and unique things and decided to get creative with all the knowledge I have. I used to refinish, refurbish and paint unique pieces of furniture. Now I use my God gifted talents in art and interior design to taking things to the next level. The bohemian style of how different piece's of furniture styles and bright colors are put together is where I came up with my shop name. When I looked up the definition for eclectic I said, "that's me" a person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. I love being creative, so I decided to start making bohemian inspired home accessories. I don't have any categories for my designs because their so unique. You just don't see uniques pieces in a department store, but it's coming via ME, Eclectic Means...On my weekly treasure hunts; I search for unique pieces to refurbish. An idea pops in my head the moment I see it and the magic begins. I come across items all the time that people would normally use for its designed purpose and turn it into a rare and unique work of art. It's a huge treat for me when I find small furniture pieces that I just can't pass up, because I know I can handle that easily. It's an easy flip, no intense labor involved there. The mid century modern circular coffee table that I have listed in my store was one of my rare finds. She was a hot mess, had not been cared for at all. She looked like the bottom of an old restuarant table you know how some people stick gum, stickers and carve dirty words on. It was horrible, but I made her beautiful again and I admire her beauty. Well I hope that I've got your attention and have drawn some interest and that you'll come back to view my unique items coming real soon to my little corner of this online world. I have a number of projects that I'm currently working on to list in my store. Meanwhile I'll be posting other unique treasure hunt finds; so please pretty please come back often and check my listings daily.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I wish to build a wonderful shopping experience for you as I want you to keep coming back.
P.S I'll have a Facebook page once my first months inventory is full.
Thank you again.
Beautiful Vintage Unique Tiger Oak Wood Buffet (Purchased in Scheinfurt Germany)
This is a beautiful tiger oak wood buffet with plenty of storage. Very solid and heavy piece. It has two deep drawers at the top as you can see in the photos. Below area has double door cabinet which has a shelf at the top and two deep pull out drawers. I found this piece on a treasure hunt 30 years ago at our local thrift shop (Gebrauchtwarenladen) in Germany while stationed there.
This piece has many purposes as it can not only he used as a buffet, but I've also used it as a media console, credenza and a pantry cabinet in my kitchen. The deep lower drawers are ideal for dishes and glass baking pans. Could also be used as a kitchen island. Add a beautiful piece of marble, granite or corian to the top. For mobility add utility cart wheels to the bottom. I wanted to do this , but just couldn't afford the materials at the time.
Another good use is a Keurig coffee station. Place your Keurig in the center, add a coffee mug holder, a basket to place your creamer, sugar and a small crystal vase for your spoons. Add a beautiful silver stray with pastries and cookies for your morning coffee and breakfast on the go. Oh and there's even space for your K-cup holder. Remember there is plenty of storage room. Use the shelves to store additional K-cups and the lower drawers to store snacks, cookies etc. Ive also used this as a snack station for my kids, lol. The usage of this unique piece are endless.
It's a solid piece of wood and very heavy. I've used it for many purposes as I mentioned above over the years, but it's time to let it go.
Note: The back of the buffet has a hole cut out. Also in the front it appears that at one time someone cut out a piece, but put it back in. Also there is a small burn mark on the left front top, but the piece us so beautiful it's not noticeable. Not sure if these are visible within my photos, just making sure I provide full details.
