This is an Alexander Girard re-edition scrim manufactured by Herman Miller from 1998 until 2000. It measures 56" wide by 78" long, and features the Alexander Girard "Names" pattern from 1957 hand-screen printed in red/crimson on 100% natural linen. This was a display model in a Herman Miller showroom and has been in storage for the majority of the past 20 years. It is in like-new condition, complete with wooden dowels, and still bears the original Herman Miller paper tag and fabric care label. The top 0.5" wood dowel has simple standard eye hooks for hanging.
The text of the paper tag reads: "Reintroducing ... Alexander Girard Textiles. In the early 1950s, among his achievements as one of the world's most provocative and engaging designer-artists, Alexander Girard turned the interior design world on its ear by introducing to its palette his whimsical, kinetic, graphically informed textile designs. We proudly reintroduce them now, screen printed by hand on 100% linen."
The text of the Care Tag reads:
"Herman Miller for the Home Girard Textiles Collection1
100% linen fabric.
Hand wash separate, cold water, line dry, press with steam iron. Some shrinkage will occur. Do not dry clean."
