condition: like new condition. Structurally very sound. Beautiful blue color. Amazingly comfortable. Designed in 1948 by Charles and Ray Eames and first presented at The Museum of Modern Art in the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture the Molded Plastic Chair RAR was the first plastic chair to be mass-produced. The current models are an exact reproduction of the originals with a clean simple form that is sculpted to fit the body. They are made with recycled and recyclable materials. The rocker base is made of stained-maple runners. The one-piece shell of this modern rocking chair is molded in 100 percent recyclable polypropylene, which gives it a soft matte finish as light plays across its shadows and contours. The colorful shell is supported by a wire frame and lovely hardwood rockers.
