An original “Letterman” oil painting on canvas. “Letterman” paintings were manufactured in the 1970s by screen-printing oil paints onto canvases, and were sold in JCPenney’s across the United States. Letterman is not an actual artist- it is just a name attributed to these pieces, and have since become a collectible group of artworks. This graphic painting depicts a moonlit sailboat in San Francisco Bay. The San Francisco skyline by night is depicted in the background. "Letterman” is printed in the lower left corner of the canvas. This unique piece of art history is presented in a simple wooden frame with plastic gilt trim. Sawtooth hangers are attached to the frame for easy hanging. A true piece of mid-century American history. 62" by 42". Excellent vintage condition. Pet/smoke free home.
