Tiggy
Tiggy & Pip
Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray. With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011. Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.

Description

Price includes shipping - see shipping notes. This platter would make an exquisite gift for a seafood chef or an excellent house warming present for those living near the sea. Dating from the 1970's this platter has been 'spray' glazed individually, so each shell varies slightly from the others in colour and intensity. Some are more 'olive green' then others, whose colors verge on 'deep lime'. Wonderfully tactile with 'ridges' reminiscent of scallop shells there cannot be a more stylish way to serve your seafood course at dinner parties. Originally designed as a table centerpiece for serving 'Coquilles St. Jacques', (scallops) the platter has twelve 'scallop shell-shaped' depressions and two 'lemon wells' in the center, where you stylishly serve your lemon ready for squeezing onto the seafood. It could also be used for oysters. The Platter weighs 1kg (2.2 lbs) and measures 33cms/13" diameter. Marked MOULIN DES LOUPS 'ORCHIES' France (Mill of wolves in English.) This porcelain mark was used when the famous Orchies and Hamage factories merged and became Moulin des Loups & Hamage, whose mark comprised a windmill and the name ORCHIES in capitals, (as shown on the bottom of this platter) from the 1920's to the 1970's. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches at all. ....................Complete French Chic Elegance! .................et Voila!......... We ship worldwide.
