1940's large vintage pull down wall British Isles in the Time of the Middle Ages backed on canvas in mint vintage condition. High quality collectable vintage wall school maps by AJ Nystrom from the 1940's. Originally these maps were in a large wooden holder. Corner says printed in Edinburgh. Actual map image size: 29" h x 39" w. Overall map size with wood rod is 41" x 39" Excellent vintage condition for a map over 65 years old. No stains, mold smells, or rips on maps area. Colors are crisp and quite saturated (photo washes out colors and makes paper look yellower than what it really is) Paper is overall in great clean shape not brittle. Ready to be framed or hanged as is. This is an original not a reproduction. Matte finish high quality lithograph printing on off white paper stock. You can hang the map from top or remove the wooden rod and frame as you wish. These Original large school maps sell for over $300 on Easy and shops and they are in not in as good condition as this one. *AJ Nystrom Maps: Nystrom is the United States' oldest publisher of wall maps and globes for classroom use. The company began as a. J. Nystrom and company on April 1, 1903, shortly after Mr. Albert J. Nystrom became the exclusive agent for W. & AK. Johnson, school map publishers of Edinburgh, Scotland. The original staff consisted of one office worker, one map mounter (who also acted as order filler and shipping clerk), and Mr. Nystrom himself. He acted as both president and managing editor until 1923 and continued as president until 1938.
