"Landscape with Structures" Signed / By L Geiser (Lucile Geiser)
This post impressionist oil on board landscape measures 16" X 20". It is framed and linen lined and is in extremely fine condition. It appears to date from the 1960's or 1970's.
Lucile R. Geiser (1937-2006) was born in Wall Township (Monmouth County), New Jersey. Encouraged by her mother Ruth Vail Conklin (1906-2008), who was also a painter, to study art, she graduated from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia.
Besides teaching art classes privately she had galleries in Naples, Maine and Sea Girt, New Jersey. She was a member of the American Watercolor Society. She was known for her spontaneous and masterly New Jersey, Maine and New Hampshire watercolor landscapes.
She received numerous awards including prizes from the National Art Club (NYC); New Hampshire Watercolor Society; Moore College of Art and has been included in the traveling exhibitions of the American Watercolor Society.
She is represented in the permanent collections of Frye Museum, Seattle, Washington; The Arts Students League; APSFA Alliance; Grumbacher's and in private collections throughout the United States and internationally.
She died in Manasquan, New Jersey.
