Very pretty, versatile, high quality walnut mid century credenza / long dresser from 60s, designed by famed American Designer John Van Koert for Drexel under a very sought-after Counterpoint line.
John Van Koert, one of the central figures of American modern furniture design in 60s, started his career as jewelry designer, helped introducing Danish modern furniture in US, and worked closely with Drexel to provide many streamlined and unique series of modern furniture. His works feature clean and unique lines combined with high quality produced by Drexel. Influence of his background as a jewelry designer is evident from the use of gleaming brass pulls contrasting deep lustrous walnut and clean yet very pretty lines that this particular credenza / dresser features! Counterpoint line is identified by the pretty line that runs from top to legs and complementing solid brass pulls with solid walnut cup backing. This dresser has 6 smoothly running nice drawers, perfectly sized to fit small and large spaces. Great as bedroom dresser, media stand or even for bathroom storage or vanity, vesatile multipurpose storage. Measures 50"L x 30"H x 20"D.
High quality piece with top grade walnut all over with gorgeous fine grain pattern. Nice solid wood inside out with dovetail construction, etc. In an excellent condition with its deep lustrous walnut finish glistening. All the drawers work well.
