Tiggy & Pip
Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray. With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011. Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.

Description

Free Worldwide Shipping - see shipping notes. This is an exceptionally beautiful Sarreguemines sauce boat with a fixed under plate, beneath the bowl, to gracefully catch any spills. The transfer pattern is named "Castle" and the mark dates it between 1920-1930. This would look wonderful as a table centerpiece at dinner parties. It is elegantly shaped with a smooth, flowing lip and delicate leaves and flowers all the way around. The central motif illustrates a hillside château with a narrow river running past on one side and a wider river flowing through countryside on the other, so it looks lovely from every angle. If you collect blue and white china and love French ironstone transfer ware to create antique table-scapes then this would make a stunning centerpiece for a fragrant bouquet. It would make a great soap dish too. The world famous 'Sarreguemines' pottery was established in 1775 in the Lorraine region. Production finally ceased in 1979, making these pieces incredibly sought after and hard to find. It is in fabulous condition with no chips at all. It has the beginnings of 'hairline' crackle to the glaze, which is to be expected with the age of this piece and in no way detracts from its beauty or functionality, in fact it simply adds to its charm and authenticity. It measures 27cms /10½" long x 16cms/6¼" wide x 9cms/3½" deep. It weighs 600gms/ 1.3lbs. …………….et voilà!........................... We ship worldwide.
