Description

Fun and funky 1960’s/ 1970’s retro mod style. In very good condition with original center bucket. Stands 23 1/2" tall. Base is 11 1/2" diameter. Column is 8" diameter. Designer Dorothy Thorpe (1901-1989) began working in glass in the early 1930’s. Some of her etched glassware can be seen in the popular television show “Madmen.” They are the preferred choice of Don Draper. In 1953 she sold her company Dorothy Thorpe Inc. The company began experimenting and working in other materials. By the mid 1960’s it was working in Lucite. This piece was probably designed by Elaine Bscheiderone in the early 1970's time period.
