for sale is a massive restored butcher block top on massive cast iron legs. there is degree to which we restore tables, and this one redefines the term "elbow grease" to the extent of making everything else look like a breeze. fort those of you that don't really want to know all that – be assured: the table is solid, heavy, food-grade safe, and truly up/recycled vintage industrial. top measures at 77 1/2 by 26 1/4 inches and 2 1/2 inches thick, and the table is almost 35 inches tall. we added footrests from salvaged pine for extra comfort and stability. it can be used as a floating table, kitchen island, or a work desk set against the wall. the "back" has a gap (see pictures), which is perfect for running the cables to whatever electronics you might have on, while still keeping the table flush to the wall. for those of you who wonder, read on: we salvaged the butcher block from Minnesota. it was extensively used in a workshop. the boards were prying apart. the rods that hold it together were re-threaded. we must have taken off over a quarter inch of grime, and by "taken off" i mean hand-scraped, belt-sanded, hand-scraped some more, finishing it with a gentle grit and layers and layers of poly. the legs were salvaged from Rockford, Illinois. layers of paint were chipping and peeling. this cast iron base held something industrial, too. so it's been washed, lightly sanded, and sealed off with poly as well. we have a set of vintage industrial steel drawers that can be mounted underneath if wanted, see https://www.etsy.com/listing/608914943/floating-industrial-metal-drawers-for for details. we took our time restoring this, and want to make sure you enjoy it on your terms. please provide your zip code to get a shipping and timing estimate.
