Vibrant modernist abstract landscape painting in acrylic on canvas entitled "Twilight", completed in 1987 by Sante Fe, NM artist Jamie Chase. Purchased in 1987 at the R.C. Rein Gallery, Chicago. Canvas measures 48" x 36" and in period appropriate solid light-colored modern wood frame. "When Jamie Chase came to Santa Fe from San Francisco in 1980, he was a young artist at the start of his career. His first sale was a landscape with a Milton Avery influence, which caught the eye of a dealer who marketed Chase as “the next Georgia O’Keeffe.” The artist would soon dispense of that title and start building a visual vocabulary of his own doing figurative and abstract works, but his fondness for landscape painting never faded." "Jamie Chase's art combines cool discipline with exploratory themes of evolution, transcendence and the boundaries of space and form. His paintings constantly seek new territory while remaining grounded in a philosophy of evolutionary consciousness. " Overall dimensions: 38.0ʺW × 2.0ʺD × 50.0ʺH
