Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray.
With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011.
Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.
This is a rare and collectible Digoin Sarreguemines asparagus serving platter, in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The stunning colors are subtle and sophisticated, elegant blue/grey and pale 'dusky' pink tipped spears, with antique white stems. The asparagus tips are majolica glazed and raised to form a tactile and alluring texture.
A sophisticated and classic platter on which to serve your accompanying asparagus dish at dinner, alongside the sauce. It is designed for you to simply serve the long cooked asparagus tips elegantly and without damaging them.
The two ends of the dish are scooped to form two compartments for any excess sauce to run into. This large platter is perfect for serving steamed asparagus with a Hollandaise butter sauce.
Stylish and unusual it would make a stunning table centerpiece at a dinner party.
It is stamped with the highly prized 'Digoin Sarrguemines' stamp on the underside and measures 41cms / 16" long x 23cms / 9" wide x 6cms / 2¼" deep.
It weighs 1.5kgs / 3.3lbs.
The world famous 'Sarreguemines' pottery was established during the French Revolution and the faience 'Digoin Sarreguemines' mark has been used since 1835. Production finally ceased in 1979.
