From abstract expressionist Vance Larson, this four panel original pastel painting makes a stunning statement. The generously sized artwork features four 20 x 40 x 1 1/2 inch panels, matted and framed in bronze metal; signed by the artist on the lower right side of the fourth panel, and on the back of panels one, two, and three. Mr. Larson’s paintings are displayed in collections around the world, and this original pastel polyptych was painted during his ‘California Period’. In 1980 the artist moved to Southern California, painting solely with pastels because he admired their pigment purity. From expressionist works to floral, cloud-like abstracts and angelic representations, the pastels created soft yet vivid colors – his well-known works from this period were intended to portray varied emotions in a dreamlike state. I have contacted Vance's sister, who operates a blog based upon Larson's work. She confirmed that this was from Vance Larson's California Period. Total length when placed together 80x40x 1 1/2 inches . Buyer pays for shipping.
