This is an antique stoneware bottle with stopper in working condition. Rare and collectible. It would look fabulous displayed alongside other stoneware items on a farmhouse kitchen shelf or dresser and would make an interesting gift for anyone who brews their own beer or wine. It could be used for lemonade or as a hot water bottle or vintage thermos flask too! The Porcelain stopper on this bottle still works perfectly, forming a tight seal. The metal wire clasp is slightly rusty, and the rubber of the stopper is starting to show signs of degradation, but this simply adds to the authenticity and charm of this bottle, and in fact gives it an 'aged to perfection' feel. It is in great condition, with no chips or cracks. Glazed in a neutral oatmeal/taupe color it is very tactile, with the outside of the bottle having a textured quality from the 'speckled' air bubbles formed during the glazing process. It is stamped 'La Broche, France, Digoin' into the side at the bottom. It stands 32cms (12½") tall (to the stopper), and weighs 1.2kgs (2.6lbs)! Great for rustic, country kitchen and French provincial style interiors. It is utterly charming. .................et Voila!......... We offer FREE worldwide shipping.
