A lovely early 20th century maple rocking cradle. Machined and hand-crafted (see hand chisel markings on underside Photo 6). Clever construction because the cradle was made to be easily stored after baby had outgrown cradle. Side rails feature dowels that were screwed into outside "harp" ends, allowing easy dis-assembly. There is also a stamp on underside of each "harp" end (see photo 2). Three slats for bed cradle bottom are if available if desired (not original) There is some damage to two of the dowels (see photo), but does not affect sturdiness of construction when screws are attached-- and not visible when fully assembled. There was also a repair made by original owner at bottom of one rocking bottom member. See photos 4-5. Barely visible when fully assembled-- and the cradle is completely sturdy. Length: 36.5". Interior width: 17". Harp end width: 29". Height: 27.75". Will be shipped or picked up unassembled.
