a real conversational starter: 1 3/4-inch-thick butcher block atop vintage cast iron legs, with two floating industrial metal drawers and shelf / footrest fashioned out of salvaged wood. cast iron legs and metal drawers were salvaged from an old workbench. legs were thoroughly cleaned and covered in several layers of poly to seal in paint and patina. drawers were stripped, cleaned and covered in poly. we paired these with a large butcher block top that was scraped, sanded, covered in teak oil and buffed, making it food-grade type safe. below the table we secured salvaged wood that we scraped, sanded and covered in several layers of teak oil, making a shelf that provides extra stability and storage. can also serves as a footrest. all this restoration provides for a very versatile table. use as a kitchen island to bring a vintage industrial look to your kitchen. perfect work space for a loft or use as a workbench for your craft or art. floating metal drawers are firmly secured to bottom of the butcher block, and can be removed or reconfigured. butcher block top measures 72 inches by 30 inches, providing ample work space. table stands 34 inches tall.
