Beautiful set of authentic rattan chairs from the 1958 Ficks Reed Far Horizons Collection.
Ficks Reed made upscale, durable furniture specializing in the use of rattan and bamboo. They've stood the test of time--60 years later they are in great condition considering the decades that have passed. You could use them immediately in your living room, or give a little bit of love to the minor scuffs and spots where you can tell they're vintage.
The beautiful design of these chairs fits right in with the boho vibes that are booming in interior design. Even the current cushions (which are in great shape) are a shade of the now-popular chartreuse color. Or, you could pop on a fun fabric that's more you to the existing cushion (current ones have a zipper).
The bamboo is stained a medium brown that has unique X designs. The bamboo curves into a lovely horseshoe barrel chair shape. My personal favorite part are the brass gold accents that really make the set pop.
I'm sad to let these go and wish I had the storage space to keep them. Before me, they belonged to one family. I got them before changing my mind for how to style our living room, and they've been covered and unused in our home since (FYI I took the photos in direct sun for better photos, but don't worry they haven't been getting that constant exposure!). My loss is your gain!
Note: please note the dimensions of these chairs, they are a bit lower than typical armchairs (cushion height is 17"; 14" w/o cushion). Only selling them as a pair.
