Description

This is a vintage painting signed Bo Morrison c. 1960s or 70s this dramatic image is, I believe, a local Jazz singer married to a doctor who lived in a fabulous experimental house designed by the founder of the school of architecture at the University of Arkansas a forerunner of Fay Jones influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. The image is done on black paper with non-glare glass and is a kind of reverse painting with bright washes of paint show up in stark contrast to the matte black paper. The frame is painted wood, black with gold trim and it is chipping. I had to unframed it to clean it up a bit so there's no backing paper I can't find anything about the artist. They travelled a lot, so it could be anyone, anywhere, but a local artist seems likely. The image is about 26 x 16 inches and this is a fabulous statement piece with a glamorous story.
