Art Deco design floorcloth

Posted on Mon Nov 13 2017

Beautifully original hand-painted floorcloth in the Art Deco Style. It measures 27.5" wide x 78" high. It is black, white and warm gray. This design is modeled after the floor tiles in lobby of the historic Price Building in Quebec City. It is a stunning addition to any room or hallway in the home. I start with a very heavy grade of canvas, then I prime the surface and miter and glue the edges. Once the canvas is prepared, I create the design in Photoshop and transfer it to the canvas. Then I hand-painted the floorcloth with acrylic paint, building up the layers of paint. This takes many days due to the many applications. The design is all hand-painted. No stencils are used. When the paint is dried, I finished with several layers of clear acrylic and a final coat of paste wax for added durability. Finally, I paint the perimeter of the back of the floorcloth with a non-skid paint that keeps the floorcloth in place. (optional) If you have limited floorspace, these floorcloths can be hung vertically on a wall. Please specify and I will not add the non-skid paint. Floorcloths should be placed on a clean, hard surface like a tile or wood floor. They can be cleaned by sweeping or sponge mopping with mild soapy water. A care and maintenance card comes with your order.
