Leon Rosen for Pace collection 'Wedge' table (aka 'Pie'), 1970. Rare piece that was part of the collection of a major Great Neck patron of Leon Rosen and Paul Evans. The table features a red jasper marble top and internal wedge panels. The Italian stone is wrapped in highly polished chromed sheeting and the bottom is adorned with castors to provide easy movement. This piece is the only known red jasper marble (Italian red / multicolored marble species and often used by Bernini in his church interiors of the 17th century) version made by Rosen /Pace and has only had one owner. The white marble version of this side table has popped up at auction on very few occasions, usually going for 3500- 5K. Market value for the red variety available here is 7000 - 9000 USD. Unfortunately in the process of moving to a new space and I need trim down my collection. Don't miss this!
