I obsessed over buying a new sofa for TWO YEARS!!!! Two. Years. Seriously. And once I found Roger & Chris's company (www.rogerandchris.com), I knew I'd be getting a sofa as high quality as the 14-year-old Restoration Hardware/Mitchell Gold one I'd had previously. But even once I found them, I could not decide: stick with the English Roll Arm style I'd been living with for those 14 years? Or go for something still classic but more modern. After hemming and hawing and sending Chris a million questions, and obsessing over just the perfect shade of blue for the velvet (it is perfect by the way), I finally bit the bullet. And in May, 2018—just 3 months ago—they delivered the sofa. It was, of course, gorgeous. I mean, just look at these pictures. And it's deep and luxurious—down wrapped seat cushions and down backs. There is no place better to curl up with a book or your iPad. Or even sleep. It's ridiculously comfortable.
But, here's the heartbreaking, true thing: I overestimated how emotionally connected I was to the English Roll Arm style. I've given myself 3 months to get used to this gorgeous sofa, but I still feel the pang of missing the classic style. So I'm hoping this piece tugs at the heart of someone new who will love it for it's stunning beauty.
