Victorian tin photo button presumably made in celebration of a marriage. This lovely floral celluloid over tin button features a beautiful array of pansies, dogwood & other flowers around the edge framing photos of the stoic couple.
Purchased it in South Dakota almost 20 years ago & was told at the time that it came from a small community nearby that was settled by Russian immigrants. I don't know if that ethnicity is accurate but it certainly could be based on the photos.
The button is over-sized at 9" in diameter & is a bit out-of-round, as can be seen in the last photo. No scratches or damage to the face of the button.
Very nice vintage memorabilia from the days before online photo albums delivered instant memories.
