Framed Botanical Watercolor Painting Signed
$60 or Best Offer
This beautiful botanical watercolor on paper was made by the award-winning New Jersey and Florida-based watercolorist, Thelma May Sarty (nee Bergin), who passed away in 2009.
In the botanical illustration tradition, it is hand-titled "Hibiscus" and signed "T. Sarty" on the left and hand-labeled with the botanically correct latin name "Hibuscus Rosa Sinensis" on the right.
It is beautifully framed under glass in a gilded wood frame with an ashes-of-rose-colored beveled mat. The frame has all the necessary hardware and is ready to hang.
The back is stamped "T.M. Sarty" along with the late artist's then local address and phone.
The size of the piece, including the frame, is 13" x 13". (See the photo with the soda can for a size comparison.)
CONDITION: The watercolor is in excellent condition. The frame has some minor bumps and wear consistent with age. The mat has some minor rippling from moisture near the right edge, but the visible part of the watercolor has not been affected. (I haven't removed it from the frame, so do not know if the paper was affected under the mat.)
This fine work of art is an original painting, not a print. Its appealing color scheme (pink, cream, green) makes it a perfect choice for your home or office wall decor.
