Antique Chinese Lacquer Credenza from Tianjin, China circa 1910-1920’s.
I purchased this Chinese cabinet while living in Hong Kong at a certified antique dealer. It is a traditional red and black lacquered design with 2 cabinets and 4 drawers, made with classic carpentry of interlocking joints.
The exterior of the cabinet requires either restoration or refinishing as the humidity has caused the lacquer to peel and cracks to form. I’ve included a variety of photos showing the detail. Otherwise the structure of the piece is incredibly strong and sturdy. The inside of cabinets is in excellent condition.
A similar refurbished antique credenza would sell for $3500+
I’m only selling because I have a small baby crawling around don’t have the time to refinish myself.
