Hello collectors! Up for sale is are up to two authentic Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chairs with coveted Brazilian rosewood shells. The Brazilian Rosewood shells are highly sought after by collectors because they were discontinued decades ago due to environmental concerns. This is how the chair was originally designed and intended by Charles and Ray Eames, the masters of American mid century design. Own a piece of history! The chairs are in completely original condition, and do show some signs of aging. Both chairs have light scuffs and marks on the wood, but no significant stratches or chips. They are usable as-is, or could undergo a light refinishing. One of the chairs also exhibits some sun fading. The leather is original on both chairs and shows some signs of wear. On one chair, the leather on parts the chair are slightly discolored and the seat is missing a button, which can easily be replaced. On the other chair, there is a small tear in the arm. I have left the leather as-is in case the buyer wants to reupholster the chair and have a fantastic example for about the price of a new one, but one that has the character of Brazilian Rosewood and is consistent with the original design of the chair as envisioned by the Eameses. These are mid 1970s examples. $3500/each. More photos available on request. NY buyers pay 8.875% tax. Shipping is not included. Please message me for shipping prices.
