Tiggy & Pip is a vintage home décor shop by mother and son décor and interior design loving duo, Tiggy and Pip Coudray.
With a shared love of all things French and vintage we opened our shop in 2011.
Based in France, between Cognac and La Rochelle, we source unusual items from recent French and European history. Everyday French household items from the 1880's to 1980's which, although at one time were plentiful, are now increasingly rare and collectible. We source specialist props for films/photo shoots and interior designers. Many of our 'finds' are currently on display in a number of top New York restaurants and Hollywood apartments.

This is a stunning set of six antique French books in faded red tones. They are 'aged to perfection' and will give you an instant 'old library' effect.
The perfect interior decorators 'o'bjets d'art' they will add a splash of color to neutral rooms. They look lovely tied up with ribbon and displayed on a coffee table, sideboard, mantelpiece, bedside table or dresser. The covers have faded with time to subtle, dusky, soft tones and the pages are yellowed with age, with age spots.
This 'red' book bundle is made up of six French, antiquarian school books, very collectible and increasingly hard to find.
They are in genuine vintage condition, as you can see from the photos. They have been held and read by many, many people who have 'thumbed through' them, studied them, ear marked pages, loved, lost and cherished them and they have finally ended up here - looking for a new home and a new adventure. They have also gathered a few pencil marks and names inside the covers over the years. I've left them exactly as I found them because they're authentic.
Most importantly they have that 'old book smell' reminiscent of libraries and bookshops from a by-gone era - fabulously comforting.
The six books are all hard cover editions, they are distressed from years of genuine use and some of the pages are delicate and loose:
The titles are:
Fables de La Fontaine (1899 edition) This book is 119 years old! It is absolutely wonderful. Jean de La Fontaine (8 July 1621 – 13 April 1695) was a French fable writer and one of the most widely read French poets of the 17th century. He is known above all for his Fables which this little book is full of along with classic illustrations.
