On Apartment Therapy
Whiskers is a far cry from the posh, high-end poodle spas in the West Village. Specializing in natural food and remedies for all pets, this holistic East Village store gets rave reviews and has a full service website.

I came to Whiskers after the petfood scare in early 2007. I had been feeding her Nutro food and was worried that it wasn't the quality they claim. She has been healthier and has a much more beautiful coat since I changed her food to a holistic one. I have been generally pleased with the experience at Whiskers. The owners will lecture you about what kind of food and how often you should feed your cat. They are very much against leaving a bowl of dry food out 24/7. I'd love to feed my cat they way they suggest, but she will not touch wet food or raw meat (she came this way when I adopted her at over a year old) and my schedule doesn't allow for me to always be home at a set time in the morning, midday and evening. I suggest, take in the knowledge, buy the food you want to feed at Whiskers, and go on your way. ny_am on Sep 8, 2008
