OK, me three. NEVER NEVER NEVER put your child's name on their shirt, etc. Can you imagine how thrilled a predator would be to spot this kid roaming around Ikea?
While we're on the topic, the book "Protecting the Gift" (and apparently, "The Gift of Fear," which I haven't read) has some great advice on how to teach your child, from a very young age, how to not get lost and what to do if s/he does get lost. (Tip: "Never talk to strangers" is terrible advice.) mi.jo on Mar 9, 2007
I was going to say the same thing as "hello insomnia" -- you should never have your child's name on their clothing or backpack -- this is old-school police knowledge! And broadcasting your child's name *and* your phone number -- you've got to be kidding! Lori on Mar 9, 2007
