On Apartment Therapy
When The Red Balloon opened, back in 1996, it was one of the only children's stores in the area which sold handmade, unique furniture. It has only grown since then and has now become one of our favorite stores.

This store is dangerous....they have the most beautiful clothes for babies and children but they come with a hefty price tag. The clientele are a tad pretentious and the store policies are not te greatest. I bought something on sale (GASP!) once and asked to have it wrapped for a gift, they wouldn't do it b/c it was on sale...she said they do not gift wrap sale items b/c then people come back and try to exchange/return and sale items are final. Very silly policy...I was giving it as a gift to someone in Arizona! kellybeegee on Nov 6, 2007
