I will be the first to admit that I don't always have the best of luck with plants, but one kind of plant that somehow "still loves me anyway", are succulents. Besides the the fact they are easy to maintain (ie. don't need much water), they are also beautiful, have amazing colors, sculputural, thrive in our climate, and are a perfect compliment to more modern decor. So, this morning, my attention was immediately caught via Daily Candy's mention of a new store called Succulent.

No need to buy succulents, just take clippings from your friends. They'll root in most soils and grow quickly. Make sure to water frequently while they're starting out and keep them a bit shady during the summer.
Btw, if you have succulent-less friends, try the large LA gardens, a little pirate pruning won't hurt the plants. perejil on Apr 28, 2007
