On Apartment Therapy
If it were possible to play out one-of-a-kind Danish and mid-century modern finds (and we dare you to try), Shag would be the Top 40 station to do it. No matter how many yard sales, antique stores, web auctions and furniture classifieds we browse, there is something so inexhaustibly delicious about being grabbed by the proportions, craftsmanship and patina of these pieces.

I live near Shag and visit regularly. While I have yet to find exactly the right peices for my home, they allways have an amazing selection and the prices are fair. The older gentleman who works there is a wonderful resouce of mid-century chat. By far the best place in PDX for mid-century modern furniture. nboxwell on May 24, 2008
I was off looking for these chairs:

And I found all sorts of other things. I thought I would share this page, for a couple reasons:

I like to see how things are made. There's a picture of what I guess is the mold for the shell chair, showing the fiberglass sticking out...or maybe it's the chair before the extra fiberglass has been trimmed off??? Neat to see, either way.
The other couple of images that I thought you might like (besides the neat decor ones, like the linoleum pattern) are the two with the ARMY of red shell rockers. Picture from behind and picture from outside.
Those two images alone gave me tons of ideas for a movie. Some kind of strange, surrealistic future movie.
And I am charmed by the use of the screen, hanging lamps and large art on that top factory floor. #9 on May 24, 2008
