On Apartment Therapy
The quest for an affordable appliance can always be a daunting one. Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to accompany a friend in their quest which lead to a random location in Santa Ana, the Sears Appliance Outlet. Sears, well known for their appliances, actually has several locations throughout Southern California (Santa Ana, Corona, and Ontario.) These outlet stores carry discontinued or slightly blemished appliances at reduced prices of 15%-50% off retail. They warehouse was filled with aisles and aisles of all types of appliances, some very new, and others in slightly worse condition. However, all the appliances come with the Sears guarantee.

Waylon - You are lucky you didn't use their delivery company. They sent 2 guys smaller then me to move a Fridge into my 1st floor apartment. (I'm 5'4" and 128lbs).
They tore the linoleum floor and broke off part of my counter (the strip around the side of it). I went rounds with them for months to get it repaired. Everytime they "fixed" it, it was worse. I got tired of having to take time off from work to meet them at my apartment and ended up fixing it myself. pb on Aug 16, 2006
1-2 weeks I purchased a stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, stove and dishwasher from Lowe's. A friend told me to check them out because of their prices. I didn't think the prices were too bad and all the deliveries/ transactions seemed pretty seamless and easy. I shopped around in Sears first but wasn't too impressed with their prices so I left. Who would ever think to purchase home appliances from Lowe's. It was a great experience and I'm looking forward to shopping at Lowe's again when I decide to remodel my bathroom. MelC on Aug 16, 2006
