This year, for some reason, Sara and I have really gotten into holiday lights. They're festive, they're cheap and they carry with them the promise that light always brings, of hope in darkness. Watch out, if your 2-year-old likes to play with them. These lights are often contaminated with lead, with the only warning (if any) being a small tag by the plug.

I attempted awhile back to pressure Urban Outfitters to stop selling such products, but despite a heavily-signed petition and promises from corporate, they did nothing. john m on Jan 6, 2009

Erm... that second one would be, lights strung behind the head of the bed. It looks like the sort of net light packs used to cover bushes. whytephoenix on Jan 6, 2009
