Museum stores aren't top of mind when it comes to shopping for kitchenware, but don't forget about the MoMA store, the retail arm of the famous New York modern art museum. The store charges itself to help us find "design for living" and they do a pretty good job of it.

Muji has been promising to open a full store in New York for going on 3 years... but until they do, it's on my list of places I have to go every time I'm in London. We have Muji pillowcases, I am in love with the Muji pens, D loves his Muji t-shirts, and the kitchen stuff is all pretty great (especially the bamboo chopsticks).
I used to get Alessi stuff (which makes great gifts) at the MoMA store before they opened their own shop in Soho. Does MoMA still carry any of their products? Mr S on Oct 18, 2006
