We were on a quest for boneless beef short ribs for a recipe that we had to make. (You know how it is.) We'd tried Stop & Shop, Whole Foods, and the slightly sketchy grocery down the street, and we were starting to get desperate.

As a vegetarian, I did the majority of my fruit and veggie shopping at McKinnon's on my way home, and only had to do small supplements from a larger store for grains and canned goods.

Mckinnon's has great meat, I was hooked on the chinese style pork tips for a while, AWESOME on the grill. I have been to the locations in Everett and Danvers, since I don't live near either location anymore I don't get over there. But I DO live down the street from Fiore's Italian Butcher Shop in Revere and they have great meat too! Like McKinnon's it's Family owned and they'll give you cuts to order. A little pricier than McKinnon's but not as ridiculous as Whole Foods. shayna on Aug 15, 2008
