We had never used a maid service before we needed help cleaning out my grandmother's house in Glendale. And then we needed a lot of help. Armed with nothing more than the yellow pages, we crossed our fingers and started dialing. Half the services didn't pick up, the half that did were questionable. We hit the jackpot when we found Good Maids.

You can use White Glove Elite in NYC. They were the most expensive of the NYC cleaners I ever used (17/hr when the others were 15/hr in about the early 2000's), but they didn't break my stuff and try to hide it like others had prior to them. kaanswfm on Aug 6, 2008
Not so fast everyone. I called them based on the post on this blog - mistake one. My mom and dad have a 1200 sq. foot house that needed cleaning (dusting and clean shelves and nick nacks, clean floors, wipe down blinds, clean 1 and 1/2 baths). Irma said that she would bring 2 helpers and she would observe - estimate over the phone $50.00. She showed up 1/2 hour late (she got lost) with 3 women. She pulled me aside after 15 minutes and said it would be $75.00 if they finished quickly $25.00 and hour for each lady. After 2 1/2 hours and a very good job, she hit my elderly mom who is on a fixed budget for $150.00.
There ya good. Good Maid sucks!!!!! Do not use them. I had to apologize to my poor mother profusely and now feel so terrible that I insisted she try Good Maids. Next time I'm going by a personal reference from someone I know. CoolChic626 on Jun 28, 2008
