On Apartment Therapy
Highbrow Furniture is an ideal online source for designer furniture — if you know exactly what you want. While the website has been around since 1999, the site's user experience has changed little in the past decade and basic functions like search are poorly executed and often don't work. So why do we continue to look at Highbrow? They carry a great selection, offer free shipping and are very clear about costs on their many custom fabric and finish options.

Just took a few minutes to peruse the site, visually, it's much better than many sites of the period but I would agree, it's layout needs updating but I like that you CAN scroll over to reveal what the item is if you don't recall the name of the item so it's not the worst out there as websites go.
That said, they DO have some great stuff for sale and while not cheap as none of these items were not inexpensive to begin with and while never were cheap, even back in the day, they were within reach of many middle class families, be it in the suburb or in the city even if it meant saving up some to get a chair or 4.
As for the name, I don't find it offensive and I think the term has more to do with the design element more than anything else, as these pieces sold here were/are often considered to be timeless and so many have never gone out of production since their inception decades ago. ciddyguy on Dec 1, 2009
Another satisfied customer here also. Very fast delivery.
Only fault is their website. Wish it was as customer friendly as the rest of the shopping experience. miaedu on Nov 30, 2009
