Gingko's mission is to offer well-designed, practical, quality home furnishings at an affordable price point. Their collection is Asian-inspired, but with a light, contemporary touch. It doesn't have the heavy finishes or embellishment of traditional Asian furniture.

Really beautifully made stuff here. The customization feature is particularly great. You can basically create a whole new piece of furniture and it barely costs any more than one of their standard items of the same type. I don't know of anywhere else you can get custom, well-made furniture for prices that compare with less reliable stuff from Pottery Barn and the like.
Also, the only sales people I've seen (at the Mountain View store) are actually the three owner-partners, so when you talk to the person in the store, chances are, you're talking to an owner. They are all really nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. on Nov 4, 2009
