Until recently we had no idea that Forgotten Shanghai was local, and a purveyor of furniture. We'd seen their opulent silk bags around town, but at the Gift Fair a few weeks ago we stumbled upon their booth and it included furniture, so we decided to visit their Potrero-Hill furniture showroom and retail space.

Does anyone have any tips on how to DIY colorwash similar to first image?
I have a piece of furniture that is natural wood that I've wanted to laquer, but I like this look as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

Does anyone know how I can DIY that color finish (see: top image) I have a similar peice of furniture that is lightly glazed natural wood and I've been wanting to laquer it. This is looking a little more color washed....suggestions?!
