I too love Fante's, and feel lucky to live a short walk from hands down one of the best kitchen stores I've ever been to. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and it's still a family business: the kind of place where people remember you and ask about that trip you took a few years ago or how that coffee grinder worked out for you.

If you're ever in Philly, treat yourself to a browse through the store. (Then go next door and sample some cheese from Di Brunos.) I love Fante's and go there almost every time I'm in Philly. The "gadget" that's more than earned its keep for us is a plastic lid to keep a half-can of soda for going flat. It's 69 cents well spent! (at the bottom of the page if you click on my name.) Ann in VA on Mar 5, 2007
