Natural color. Since color is the focus this month, we thought we?d introduce you to Earthues, a textile-design studio that specializes in natural dyes made from roots, bark, flowers and insects. Natural dyes are nontoxic, biodegradable and the colors don't clash like chemical dyes. Dyes from Earthues are also fair-trade and sustainably harvested.

I use their dyes for my naturally dyed yarns and fibers and interned with them for about 9 months. I'm really glad to see them profiled here, they are one of the only places that does natural dye extracts, which are much easier (and faster) to use, though still of course much, much more time and labor intensive than standard dyes. midnightskyfibers on Oct 13, 2007
